On this Green Restoration page, I have included some examples of projects where our major focus was in building with sustainable products. From Cradle to Cradle, We paid close attention to the highest standard from the USGBC or U.S. Green Building Council, in selection our choices of new materials and practices. The counters are rated as cradle to cradle… indicating that when we purchase that particular material, it can be recycled into new product. When we seal our floors or coat our woods, we use low VOC products. Most of all we pay attention to each step you see in these photos showing examples of restored spaces where preserving architecture is our first concern. So many new advances in LED lighting, has sincerely made it a huge learning curve for designers, who for years, have used lighting systems with a wide variation of incandescent bulbs. Spot lighting was never so good. And although these systems are still in place, the replacement of LED bulbs is a must for conserving energy. What you see here in these photos are examples of good lighting principles from way back in the 1980’s when low voltage lighting came into existence, all the way up into the present when backlighting, under cabinet lighting and unique fixtures, can reduce the cost and energy.
