The examples I show in these few pictures of sustainable cabinet solutions, I am most proud of. And you don’t hear me say this too often. Yet seriously, cabinets alone take a huge toll from our world’s natural environments. If we can start with original cabinets, rough them up and rub with wax….we create a presence that never existed! The Clowes home was outfitted with maple cabinets that looked completely out of place in a Spanish Mediterranean Revival home. But a little elbow grease and they looked completely like they’ve been there for years! Flip through these various cabinet solutions and you won’t see new unless it’s bamboo. You’ll only see re-use and glorious patinas brought to the forefront to make the most primary element of a kitchen, come alive!
