PROJECTS

The examples shown in the photographs above from various installations over many years, have one thing in common; the use of beautifully restored and re-used lumber. Shown on two bar faces, you will see very textural planks from an old barn or chipped painted spindles from a Victorian railing, that create the feeling of architectual appreciation. Elements like this don’t die. They come to accent new life. Notice the pews from an old gothic church, and how they celebrate the richness of a space, that is affordable and elegant because of its history. Notice the use of re-used mahogany trim on bamboo cabinets accenting the original beams over a kitchen. Or two front hall doors entirely different from one another because one is restored and the other built from beautifully honed antique barn wood. Create beams where a room needs warmth yet use old lumber and the scene is better still! Find scraps from a rummage of hurricane damage and you might bring a new modern floor to life from re-use materials . There is no better way.
